One Step At A Time

ImageNothing of worth has ever come about in one big leap; they have all been established through dedicated people persistently taking one step after the other!

So it is with raising Foster Children. To really make a lasting difference and impact in broken and abused little lives, we as Foster Parents have to be dedicated and persistent in being there for them ever day …  every step of the way!

Years of neglect and abuse cannot simply be wiped away from their lives in a week or even a year.  It takes commitment, time, patience, love and dedication.  Therefore we should never look at our Foster Child and think … “Wow, it has been 9 months already and I can simply see no change in him/her”.  Your love filled investment in him/her will never be fruitless.  Give the seed you have planted in his/her life time to grow and mature into a huge sturdy tree that will bear abundant fruit in his/her season.

About Helouise Steenkamp

I'm a 45 plus, Devoted Wife and Mother. Adonai has blessed us with two Amazingly Wonderful Sons. We have had the privilege of being Place of Safety parents for 1 1/2 years and there after foster parents to a Darling Princess for 5 years. She was reconciled with her biological parents in Dec'14. Our hearts are still aching from the loss, but we know that as we trust Adonai with our salvation, so we can trust Him with her future. We welcomed our new 4 year old foster child on 05JUN'15.
